Melanie has over 31 years of professional experience: 26 years of service in state and local government specializing in criminal justice planning, financial crime analysis, investigations, and internal audit activities; and 5 years in the private sector – real estate and insurance industries. She has approximately 15 years of investigative experience in the areas of fraud, employee misconduct, Title VII, and background investigations. Since 2009, Melanie has been primarily working in the Florida Inspector General Community; and she has been expanding her skill set to include audit/compliance related activities since 2014. Currently, she is the Director of Investigations for the Florida Housing Finance Corporation, Office of Inspector General. She has a B.A. in Psychology from the University of South Florida and holds the following certifications/licenses: Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE); Certified Government Auditing Professional (CGAP); Certified Inspector General Investigator (CIGI); Certified Inspector General Auditor (CIGA); EEO Investigator; and Florida licenses – Real Estate Sales Associate and All-lines Insurance Adjuster. Melanie has been an active member of the Tallahassee Area Chapter #16 of the ACFE, Inc. since 2014, serving as the Treasurer, Secretary, and Board Member.
